Before I get into that there's obviously gonna need to be some background knowledge you should probably have, though it's not exactly necessary to know, it just helps add a lot of context for the way certain things work in this AU. I'll give a basic description of these things, just enough for what you should probably know, and add links to any wiki pages that you can check out yourself if you feel like.
The list of things you should at least be aware of to have a better understanding of this is:
Friday Night Funkin' (or FNF) is a rhythm game known for it's vast modding community which is known to follow trends due to how easy it is, relatively speaking anyways, to get popular from it. Whenever a certain mod would get popular it was only natural that young kids would see the promise of easy fame and immediately jump onto it by trying to do the same thing as everyone else, though that's not to say there weren't also people doing this simply for fun either because they had their own cool ideas for it, or they were simply wishing to imitate something that they liked.
Consider these next two a sub-category of the FNF modding section as everything I said there applies here as well. FNF remix mods were one of the earliest trends in the modding community, as it essentially gave people a way to revisit the old mods that they liked and bring them back to relevancy with a different coat of paint. It also probably helped that the concept of remix mods themselves were very popular as they began to be treated as their own unique AUs, and everybody loves those. Essentially any concept you could have for an AU was turned into a remix mod and quickly gained traction which ended up with a LOT of them being made.
Vs Ourple Guy (or VOG) was originally a joke mod based on both That One Sprite Of William Afton and the "why he ourple" image that would over time evolve into more of a dedicated FNAF fandom mod as basically any mod based on a certain piece of media tends to do for some reason. It began to feature other FNAF characters and bits of fandom history and even original characters with an original story and generally the scope of the mod just became a lot bigger with time and it's definitely still one of THE most promising FNF mods to me simply because of how much care has been put into it, and it began to reflect a lot in the community that had formed around it.
The aforementioned community that had formed around Vs Ourple Guy sometime in it's early development. Not to be confused with the Ourple Fandom which is solely dedicated to the original mod and it's characters, the Ourple Community formed around the time that the remix mod craze of the FNF community was happening, resulting in people attempting to make their own remix mods of Vs Ourple Guy. Though whereas this would typically die out with time or simple never go anywhere as did with other mods, for some reason the ourple remixes stuck around for a while and began to grow more and more with time, to the point a lot of them would even make up their own original remix AUs just for their ourple mod. Why this exactly happened I couldn't tell you, as I wasn't really around at the time, though my best guess is simply that a lot of the community became close friends, and as such they stayed together even when the hype kinda died down. From what I can remember, the biggest VOG remix mods at the time (or at least at the time I joined the community) were Vs Vreen Guy and Vs Vloo Guy, who were both originally D-Sides remixes, and both would become kinda the leading examples for the rest of the community.
Five Nights at Freddy's is a game that exists. Due to the original Vs Ourple Guy shifting into more of a general FNAF fandom mod, there were a lot of underlying implications and context needed to a lot of the things in the mod. Stuff that you wouldn't really think about normally, not unless you happened to be making, say, some kind of remix mod where you'd need in-universe explanations for a lot of the stuff featured in your mod. In order to fill these gaps, a lot of Ourple mods would take their own swing at the lore for their characters and story, while still trying to keep their roles in the story the same, turning it into a sort of parallel universe to FNAF where every character is different yet fills the same roles. For example, since Ourple originated from Willaim Afton, every Ourple Variant would technically be in the role of Afton even when most of them would be nothing like him at all, and this rings true for the rest of the characters and events in the original FNAF lore. Some could be insanely different and derivative, trying to be their own unique stories, or some could take heavily from the original events of FNAF while still putting their own unique spin on it. It's really a case by case basis, but I like incorporating aspects of the original FNAF games, lore, and fandom into my stuff so you'll tend to see me draw a bunch of parallels between variants that weren't exactly originally intended.
If you know about those, then the rest of this should be easier to understand. Basically, 'Guyslop' is a term that's based on my earlier days in the Vs. Ourple Guy community, when I would affectionately label the things I drew of all the different ourple variants and the characters within their lore as 'Slop'. This was because it mainly all fell under general fandomite shenanigans- ships, headcanons, AUs, that's what Guyslop is all about! As a tag, it's just a broad catchall term for any ourple art I make because most, if not all of it, is self indulgent nonsense that I would never put on the main character tag. The tag itself, however, does have it's own accompanying AU, which is where the main designs featured here are from. Think of them like my 'headcanon' designs for characters, since that's essentially all this AU is. All that is to say- These guys are my own interpretations of the characters, and a lot of them are very INACCURATE interpretations! If you want canon-abiding content, this is not the place to go to for that.
As a reminder, #guyslop is not exclusive to this AU or these designs, which is why my other AU designs will also be featured here.
Guyslop is basically just my little self-indulgent sandbox off in the corner away from everyone else. I play with them like dolls, I make them interact and I make all kinds of different designs and variants of them. There's no set 'canon' and I'm basically always messing with new dynamics and relationships for them, though I do tend to have a general consensus over how they all act and how they interact with one another. At the end of the day they really are just characters and I like to put them in random scenarios and stories, so I wouldn't worry about having to 'keep up' with anything when it comes to like, base Guyslop shenanigans. Stuff like individual universes and AUs are a different story but I'll make sure to put up any explanations for those where I can just so basically anyone can get into it or at least Understand it.
Also on the note of constantly messing with dynamics, there's basically no canon ships outside of the already established relationships. You'll see me ship them together a lot but none of that is like actually set in stone and never will be I just think it's cute. I plan to make a few charts about the specific groups and pairings that I prefer to put them in so that'll be fun to see when it's done.
Now for a rundown of the way this site works. As I mentioned before this site is used to store all my designs for these guys, and I'm also using it to store certain information about them for more ease of access to my friends so they can actually like read up about this on their own time instead of having me ramble about it all for 30 hours. The MAIN PAGE contains the main 4 guys since they're, yknow, the main ones, and near the bottom is the hub for the links to the rest of the pages. Said pages are split up into 3 categories, OTHER CHARACTERS, CHARACTER VARIANTS, and MY OURPLES. The first category is pretty self explanatory, so I'll just go over the contents individually.
OTHER GUYS - The page for any other Ourple or miscellaneous character who does not fall into the other categories. Tends to be where the "side characters" are, not to be confused with the "side cast" which is what I'd say the PAP and NWAN casts are.
NWAN/Vs Vloo Guy - The page for my designs for the NWAN/Vs Vloo Guy universe.
PAP/Vs Vreen Guy - The page for my designs for the PAP/Vs Vreen Guy universe.
OCs/RDs - The page for any of my original characters and repurposed designs (repurposed designs being characters or designs that weren't created by me but were either scrapped or are hardly acknowledged, leading to me kinda taking the wheel with them)
CHARACTER VARIANTS - The category for all my character variant pages. Each page contains my designs/variants/AU versions of a specific character, except for the last one which is just used for any miscellaneous variants of characters who don't warrant their own standalone page.
MY OURPLES - My ourple mods! This category specifically only contains my ourples that actually have their own lore and cast, and any of my ourples who don't will just go into the OCs page. These ones aren't really technically PART of Guyslop, but I figured I might as well put them here anyways since someone want might to know about them.
At the very bottom of the main page is the character gallery, most pages have one, it's where I put any relevant or important drawings of characters that I don't wanna lose track of. Stuff like additional refs and charts and whatnot.
