A bizarre virus has begun to spread from Ourple to Ourple, turning anyone who falls victim to it into a cute, pink, more lovely version of themselves. Dubbed the Lovely Virus, it's symptoms mainly focus on dramaticizing feelings and actions associated with love to a horrific and even sometimes lethal degree. Cute giggles become manic laughing fits, butterflies in your stomach become literal, and your mind becomes consumed with obsession towards whoever seems to have caught your romantic interest, turning anyone with the virus into essentially an insane love zombie.
Patient zero for the virus was Ved, who was already known to be rather affectionate towards his friends, but it seems that love managed to twist and deform into something more malicious, leading Ved to become the first infected and carrier of the disease. Soon after, the other ourples would follow, with only 3 remaining to try and fix the pretty pink mess their world had become. Those three being Varoon, Olue, and Vloo, who had previously been infected, but was able to be temporarily cured by the other two. Together they formed "The Heartbreakers", a survivor group dedicated to rounding up the infected Ourples and trying to find a way to rid them of the virus for good, as their current method really only put it on standby.
However, it wouldn't be an easy task, as Varoon would become infected after coming into contact with Vreen's blood, leaving only Olue and Vloo to fix everything. Vloo would begin to doubt if it was even worth it to try and fight back, believing maybe they'd all just be happier this way, but Olue seemed persistant that there was more to life than just being happy and in love forever, and that he'd figure out a way to make everything right, with or without Vloo. Vloo eventually agreed to help out at least until they had found Ved, as her location had been a mystery ever since the start, leaving Olue to face her on his own once the time came to meet with the one who had started everything.
